Responsibilities and duties:
· Identify and organize research projects in the area of developmental biology, organogenesis and regeneration.
· Manage a team of scientists participating in the research
· Write progress reports on the research
· Prepare and deliver formal reports on the research
· Do hands on work in association with the team
· Have a command of the modern tools of molecular and cellular biology
· Teach and mentor a research team
· Interact with other individuals and teams in the laboratory
· Keep abreast of scientific progress in the field of research
· Interact with the world community of scientists in the field
· Write formal reports for peer review and publication
Requirements
Education:
· PhD in the general field of developmental biology, organogenesis, regeneration. Post doctoral experience of at least 5 years.
Work experience:
· Minimum five (5) years in a research laboratory showing independent work in the field
· Record of publications documenting productivity in the field
· Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced research laboratory environment of a biotechnology start-up.
· Demonstrated ability to work in a group
· Industrial research experience would be attractive as GLP usage is needed.
Exposure:
· Human and laboratory animal (mouse, rat, pig) tissues.
· Laboratory chemicals and reagents typically used in cell and molecular biology.
Travel:
Less than 10% of time in travel.
