Description
A full time research scientist is needed to support the activities of the SAFT Advanced Development group in the Cockeysville facility.
The Research Scientist will fully participate in the activities of the group by conducting testing and evaluation of new materials, provide input to cell design from start to finish, assist the group’s involvement in various research projects, report the results of his/her work to the meetings of the group. Other assignments as requested by the Manager of Research and Development.
Requirements
A BS or MA in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science is a must.
Some knowledge in Electro-chemistry is desirable but not required.
The ideal candidate will have creative personality with the ability to think outside the box. The person must be a team player but will also be able to work independently with little supervision. People’s skills are a must since the position requires working with other scientists within the group, directing two technicians when needed, conducting communication with outside labs on various services as well as occasional customer support.
PREFERED SKILLS:
Good computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel and Power Point
Hands on approach in the daily activities
Team player willing to contribute
Willingness to learn new things in the multi-discipline field of batteries
