Purpose:
Summary
Support for contact lenses and ophthalmic materials development projects. Our research involves polymer synthesis, polymer modification, as well as investigation of their physical, mechanical and biological properties. The candidate will carry out daily lab operation including setting up reactions, purification, extraction, and characterization of resulting materials using instruments such as spectrometers, surface analytical tools, mechanical testers, and thermo characterization tools. Experiences with hydrogels will be a plus
Experience/Education
- B.S or M.S in Organic chemistry, Polymer Chemistry or Materials Sciences. Master degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated hands-on experiences with minimum 4 years of industrial experiences or combination of experience and education are a must.
- Experience in organic synthesis is a plus
- Ability to work out experiments with minimum supervision, organization skills for multi-tasking.
- Candidate should be self-driven to acquire new knowledge, skill and techniques, has the ability to accurately record observation of experimental results consistent with protection of intellectual properties.
- Perform wet chemistry analysis including GC, GCMS, HPLC, GPC, FTIR, UV-Vis, pH, extraction, conductometer, water content in accordance with written procedures
