Amicus Therapeutics is a biopharmaceutical company developing novel, oral therapeutics known as pharmacological chaperones for the treatment of a range of human genetic diseases. Responsibilities:
Our state-of-the art laboratory uses a combination of cell-biology, genetic, and biochemical approaches to study neurodegenerative diseases caused by defects in protein folding. In this position, the Research Associate will have responsibilities including but not limited to: mammalian cell culture; cell transfection, maintenance of cell lines, cell-based experiments; plate-based assays; plasmid construction and amplification; protein purification & biochemical characterization; write reports and prepare slide presentations.
Requirements
Requirements/Qualifications:
A BS in biology and 3+ years of laboratory experience, or MS with 1+ year of laboratory experience is required. The successful candidate will have proven cell and molecular biology skills, including experience with culturing and transfecting mammalian cells, designing and constructing plasmids, PCR, qRT-PCR, fluorescent plate-based assays, and basic protein purification and characterization by SDS-PAGE. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are imperative. The candidate will have exceptional record-keeping skills and show attention to detail when conducting experiments. Exhibiting a sense of urgency and the ability to work under tight deadlines is a must. The candidates must be able to demonstrate initiative, innovative thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with other scientists in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing team environment.
